13 Iranian applicants have been registered for the 2020 admission campaign at Tomsk State University. The applicants chose such areas of training as information technology, mathematical analysis, modeling of robotic systems, economics, geology, landscape architecture, museology and philosophy. Now cooperation between Tomsk and Iran is mainly in the field of research. In 2018, the number of Iranian students rose to five. Now there are two Iranian students at TSU. Moreover, this year a student from Iran took 1st place in the regional round of the Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language "Time to learn Russian!" The press service of the administration of the Tomsk region reported that the Tomsk governor and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to create a joint working group, which will propose the most effective directions of cooperation for consideration by the head of the region and the head of the diplomatic mission.
