The 1st Forum of Rectors of Universities of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran

The 1st Forum of Rectors of Universities of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on the initiative of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the University of Tehran on October 28, 2015 at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Within the framework of the Forum, a Memorandum on the establishment of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed. On the Russian side, the document was signed by the President of the Russian Rectors' Union, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University V. A. Sadovnichy, and on the Iranian side — the president of the Rectors Summit of Leading Universities of Iran, Rector of the University of Tehran Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi.

Within the framework of the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Iranian Universities, the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the leading Iranian Shahid Beheshti University signed an agreement on the establishment of the Lomonosov Research and Education Center in Tehran and the Razi Center in Moscow. The agreement provides for the coordination of scientific research, joint scientific conferences, common educational programs, including distance education, exchange of electronic resources and other events.

Summing up, all participants of the first Forum of Rectors of Universities of Russia and Iran expressed confidence that scientific and educational cooperation between our countries will actively expand.
