The Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Iran was established on October 28, 2015. Within the framework of The 1st Forum of Rectors of the Universities of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran (October 28, 2015), the President of the Russian Rectors' Union, the Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician V.A. Sadovnichy and the President of the Summit of Rectors of Leading Universities of Iran, the Rector of the University of Tehran Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi signed a Memorandum on the establishment of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia and Iran.
